To make knowledge accessible to all the British Council in partnership with Zain Telecom launched the first of its kind Digital Library in Sudan that can be accessed on the internet. As a member of the Digital library, you will have world class resources at the tip of your fingers, from online study resources to popular eBooks and audiobooks, and award-winning movies and documentaries. The digital membership also gives you access to magazines and newspapers, comics and graphics novels from around the world and learning resources to develop your skills.
Robin Davies, British Council Country Director, Sudan says:
‘For many years the British Council has been renowned all over the world for its libraries – quiet places of learning and reading for all ages, and hubs of cultural activity and development. The closure of our six libraries in Sudan at the end of the last century was sad for us all. Twenty-five years later, I am delighted today to see the launch of our new British Council Digital Library in partnership with Zain. This marks a new venture for both organisations - a partnership which will bring digital reading and learning through an easy to access platform directly to your computers and smart phones. Furthermore, we are offering free access for the Sudanese population over the next 3 months, recognising the learning and reading challenges everyone is currently experiencing under Covid-19. Welcome to our new Digital Library – sign up today and join the new British Council / Zain adventure in your education.’
Khalid Jaffer, Senior Manager of Commercial Division at Zain states ‘since the establishment of Zain it has been effortlessly trying to bridge the knowledge/ learning gap through continuously developing its network to cope with the latest technological advances in the telecom industry. In addition to that Jaffer says that this partnership with the British Council is an extension to Zain’s offerings over its network to offer scientific, cultural and entertainment content and support knowledge seekers in the journey of gaining knowledge from a state of the art platform contributing to all that is modern in the world of technology.’
