"For me, teaching adults is about giving students a new opportunity, and I feel that I get a lot out of the exchange I have with them. I like trying to help people understand something they don’t know.

The students in Sudan are keen, enthusiastic, and receptive to new techniques.  I find them to be very polite, friendly and respectful, which is really helpful.

I was born in Khartoum, but not raised here, so it’s great to come back and learn more about Sudanese culture."

"I love teaching because I like interacting with a diverse group of people. As a teacher you are constantly learning. I have always been in an environment where I have known and interacted with foreign language students.

Sudanese students are very respectful and generous with their attention, as well as being eager to learn, which means the classes are friendly and relaxed. This is important, as students can be shy in the classroom, so one of the first things I do is get the students to relax."
